Enhance your system's Speed and Performance for Windows 8/8.1

Stuck up with the speed and performance of your PC..! Don’t worry you have got an awesome speed and performance if you are running on the Windows 8 or Windows 8.1. Although the environment that is available with Windows 8 is at the zenith of its speed and performance.
Still some problems occur with the speed and performance of your system if you don’t have a proper management of your hard drives and flash drives. As you make the installations and removal of various soft-wares and programs, main file get installed and deleted respectively. But some temporary files, dump files stay there on your memory and occupy unnecessary space. Thereby speed and performance of your system goes down.
To understand the processing of an application you must be aware about ROM and RAM. Whenever you start a new programme on your PC by clicking its icon or something else, at that time you are ordering to transfer the data from ROM to RAM with the help of processor. Thus two processes occur simultaneously. First is to read the data on your ROM and second is to write the data on your RAM. Thus these two speeds must be balanced for the better performance.
To check the speed, performance, memory used and space occupied on the drives you may use the Task Manager on your PC. To access the Task Manager follow the set of keys:
Ctrl + Alt + Delete
Monitor Your speed and performance

For better speed and performance you must have to take care of following things.

  • Lesser background programmes running on your PC

  • Enough space on your “C” drive corresponding to your RAM

  • Proper space location of your hard drive or Fragmentation

Methods to increase the speed and performance of your PC.

1. Reduce the start-up programmes:

Whenever your switch on your computer than lots of programmes and application pop up on your screen. These programmes may include the updating software, notification, application launcher etc. Some of the programme are required and does not have any bigger impact on your system speed and performance. But some of them have high impact on the system speed and performance. You need to disable them. The shortest and easy method to disable them is Task Manager. Start your Task Manager as described above and follow the Start-Up menu. A list of programmes will appear. Disable unnecessary programme just by selecting them or hit disable.

2. Perform the Disk Clean-Up using administrative tools:

Purpose of this action is to gain the space on your disk. This tool scans for the temporary file, offline webpages, Recycle Bin, log files etc.
After revealing all the unnecessary files and folders it lets you delete all these files using Clean up system files.
Disk Clean-up lets you delete unnecessary files.
To access this tool go to start button and then Administrative Tools. Click on the Disk Clean-up and choose the drive you want to put under scan. It may take some time and the space on disk which has been gained will be displayed. Then select the Clean-up system files and within moments your PC will be free from unnecessary files. Took the steps in the order given below.
Start > Administrative Tools > Disk Clean-up > Select Drive > OK > Clean up system files

3. Analyse and Optimise your Drives:

This is one another administrative tool that lets you manage your disk size and improves speed and performance. You may need to update and remove the software time to time on your PC. This dynamic process leads to dislocation of disk space. Sometime your “C” drive reserves the excessive space on your disk. In that case you need to reduce used space and increase the free space, which is called optimization.
Optimise drive lets you analyse and clean the drive
You may access this tool from the administrative tools. Once you select the drive then click on the Analyse. A complete scan run across the respective drive and shows the defragmented space on that drive. After that you just need to click on the Optimise All button. Within moments your drive will be optimised by the system tool and will give a push to speed and performance. Took the steps as given below.
Start > Administrative Tools > Defragment and Optimise Drives > Select Drives > Analyse > Optimise

Schedule Optimisation:

You have to go through all these steps every time you want to optimise your drive. The simple and easy method to do this is put the optimization under the schedule. To schedule the optimization click on the Change Settings on Optimise Drive pop up window.
Schedule the optimization of your system
Then select the Frequency of optimization, select the Drives by clicking on the Choose button and then OK. Your optimization will be scheduled.
Below screen shots shows the administrative tools position in your start button.
