Xiaomi, The Chinese smartphone manufacturers have been called out for spying the personal data of the Xiaomi phones users. According to the latest reports, one of the model naming Xiaomi Redmi note has been found guilty for sending the texts and the photos to a server which is placed in Beijing. This news has confirmed that Chinese government is spying on users personal data.
Xiaomi smartphones phones user from Hong Kong has claimed that his device was connected to some other IP address present in China. He has also published screenshots of the device. He has claimed that when he is using WiFi from his device, this another server is receiving the text and images. And even after changing the firmware, the problem is intact.
Xiaomi phone cloud services has been backing up the data, and this has been claimed as the main reason of this case. But the reports have made a strong believe on the fact that MiCloud feature on the device has been turned off when the transfer are taking place.
CNNIC is the agency that has been claimed responsible for these internet affairs, a report from phone arena has revealed this news. CNNIC is agency under the Ministry of Information Industry of the People’s Republic of China. Xiaomi Mi3 launch event in Delhi, there was a question raised for confirming the geographical location of the servers where user data was being backed up, and VP International operations for Xiaomi, had revealed that the backup was stored on Amazon’s cloud servers.
Xiaomi phone has become very famous in the era of low price smartphone’s, and has launched a lots of different models into the market. Xiaomi Mi3 smartphone was recently launched in India this year, which was out of stock in a short span of time, within five seconds yesterday. But this news has just put a question in every-bodies mind, that is the device save for them, can they use this devices without any harm to him, through his personal information.
